BSc Hons, HCPC, SOCAP
Jamie is our in-house fully HCPC-registered Podiatrist and biomechanical specialist, and his expertise allows him to assess and treat all foot conditions; everything from athlete’s foot and corns to verrucas and warts.
Jamie’s specialisation is in foot and lower limb biomechanics, and he has gained extensive knowledge in the structural and functional pathologies of the lower limb.
He works in conjunction with the physiotherapy and sports injury team at Gosforth Physio & Wellness – the only clinic in the North East to offer this specialised team approach to our patients.
Jamie achieved his BSc (Hons) degree in Podiatry, awarded by Leeds Metropolitan University, while studying at New College Durham.
Since graduating, Jamie has gained valuable experience both in the NHS and private sectors. He has worked with physiotherapists, orthopaedic surgeons, sports injury therapists, GPs, occupational therapists, sports massage therapists and diabetic wound teams, all the time expanding his knowledge in the assessment and treatment of foot, lower limb and upper limb conditions.
Jamie takes great care to help his patients understand their pain and problems before he then creates bespoke treatment programmes for them. A mixture of extensive training and study has allowed Jamie to hone his skills in biomechanical and gait (walking) analysis and assessments, allowing him to to help relieve not just painful and problematic feet but also offer help to patients with knee, hip, back, shoulder and neck pains.
In addition to his work with the Gosforth Physio & Wellness team, Jamie is looking to develop and lead professional development courses for delivery to physiotherapists, GPs, chiropractors, osteopaths and personal trainers so they, in turn, can help their patients/clients enjoy a pain-free and higher quality of life.
When he’s not ‘fixing feet’, Jamie spends his free time weight training, building core strength in our own Pilates classes – and enduring his own special pain by supporting Sunderland football club!
