Sports Massage is a beneficial treatment suitable for those typically (but not always) involved with a particular sport or physical activity, especially if they are suffering from tightness or an injury.
Your treatment begins with an assessment, and a discussion of any issues you have. We answer your questions and only then do we begin physical manipulation. Conrad, our therapist, has studied a number of different sports massage styles. This helps us provide you with the best treatment for your specific issues, your activities, your goals and your lifestyle.
This depends entirely on what your aims are, and what issues you have. Typically one sports massage session will give you a marked improvement and relief from a host of issues such as tightness, muscle knots and restricted movement of a joint. If you are working with an injury it will depend on the severity of the issue; remember that chronic (long term) issues typically take longer to resolve than acute (short term) issues. We will be able to discuss this at the first treatment.
Sometimes: discomfort as a result of dealing with injuries or even with extreme tightness can be unpleasant, and it is important to be able to communicate with your therapist and let them know if you feel any pain. You may also find the areas that have been worked with are tender up to a couple of days after treatment.
